| In 1792, Don Manuel Gonzalez was granted four hundred arpents of land in the vicinity of Pensacola. The remnants of this ranch can still be found in the hamlet known as Gonzalez Florida north of Pensacola along highway 98. Seven generations later my father courted and won the favor of my mother who was raised in this same area. The history of my mothers’ family is less well recorded, but I know that my maternal grandfather was at least 50% Creek Indian from the Atmore nation. These indigenous people populated the area which now encompasses the border of Florida and Alabama since before the inception of our nation. With that history as my background, I am proud to claim the status of a native Floridian and I am happy to be living in this wonderful state. I also take pride in helping my clients find their own piece of paradise. More importantly, I love to help them find and enjoy all this great state has to offer. After earning a Batchelor’s degree in Soil Science and a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering Sciences from the University of Florida, I was privileged to work on a wide variety of projects which have honed my ability to negotiate contracts, recognize value, and provide service. For thirty some odd years I worked on many projects involving land reclamation, environmental restoration, permitting, and the use of natural products harvested from Florida’s natural environment. As a Realtor I always look for value and for opportunities for my clients to obtain properties which have an upside potential.
